Designed in 1958 by Willumsen and Engholm — two cabinetmakers working at Fritz Hansen who turned out to be talented designers as well — the Foldable Tray Table has a simplicity that is deceptively considered. The tray lifts away from the folding stand, making it as practical as it is elegant: use it as a side table, a breakfast tray, a drinks surface, or a place to set things down without cluttering a room. When not in use, the stand folds flat and the whole piece takes up almost no space.
